Like / Love / Hate + ing: Explicación + Ejercicios

Like / Love / Hate

En inglés, cuando hablamos de gustos y preferencias, usamos mucho los verbos:

  • like → gustar
  • love → encantar
  • hate → odiar

Cuando estos verbos van seguidos de otro verbo, ese verbo termina en -ing.

NO decimos: like eat ❌
SÍ decimos: like eating ✅

🟢 Forma afirmativa

Sujeto + LIKE / LOVE / HATE + verbo -ing

Ejemplos:

  • I like reading books. → Me gusta leer libros.
  • She loves cooking at home. → A ella le encanta cocinar en casa.
  • They hate waking up early. → Ellos odian despertarse temprano.

💙 Nota: en tercera persona (he / she / it), el verbo lleva -s:
she likes, he loves, it hates

🔴 Forma negativa

Subject + DO / DOES + not + LIKE / LOVE / HATE + verbo -ing

Ejemplos:

We don’t hate working together. → No odiamos trabajar juntos.t.

I don’t like studying at night. → No me gusta estudiar por la noche.

He doesn’t love driving in the city. → A él no le encanta conducir en la ciudad.

❓Forma interrogativa

DO / DOES + sujeto + LIKE / LOVE / HATE + verb -ing + ?

Ejemplos:

  • Do you like learning English? → ¿Te gusta aprender inglés?
  • Does she love dancing? → ¿A ella le encanta bailar?
  • Do they hate waiting? → ¿Odian esperar?

3. Traduce al inglés.

  1. Me gusta aprender idiomas.
  2. A ella le encanta viajar sola.
  3. Odiamos limpiar la casa.
  4. ¿Te gusta cocinar en casa?
  5. No me gusta conducir de noche.
