Preposiciones en inglés

En este tema vamos a ver las preposiciones más comunes del nivel A1, que aparecen constantemente en frases básicas.

¿Qué son las preposiciones?

Una preposición es una palabra que conecta otras palabras en la frase. Indica relación de lugar, tiempo, dirección, compañía, origen, etc. En español serían palabras como: a, para, con, de, desde, sobre…

🔵 TO = a / hacia

Se usa cuando hay movimiento hacia un lugar o persona.

  • I go to work.→ Voy al trabajo.
  • She walks to school. → Ella va andando al colegio.
  • Give it to me. → Dámelo (a mí).

🔵FOR = para

Se usa cuando algo está destinado a alguien o tiene una finalidad.

  • This gift is for you. → Este regalo es para ti.
  • I study English for my job. → Estudio inglés para mi trabajo.

🔵WITH = con

Se usa para indicar compañía.

  • I live with my parents. → Vivo con mis padres.
  • She is with her friends. → Está con sus amigos.

🔵FROM = de / desde

Indica origen, procedencia.

  • I am from Italy. → Soy de Italia.
  • This letter is from John. → Esta carta es de John.

🔵ABOUT = sobre

Indica el tema de algo.

  • We talk about the film. → Hablamos sobre la película.
  • This book is about history. → Este libro trata sobre historia.

🔵OF = de

Lo usamos para indicar posesión o relación.

  • The color of the car. → El color del coche.
  • The capital of France. → La capital de Francia.
