Adjectives in English: Explicación + Ejercicios

Adjectives

En inglés, el adjetivo va delante del sustantivo.
Esto es diferente al español y es una de las primeras cosas importantes que hay que aprender.

Sustantivo + ADJETIVO
Ejemplos:
  • a big house → una casa grande
  • a red car → un coche rojo
  • the old man → el hombre mayor

🔵 Importante: el adjetivo no cambia

➔ No tiene plural

➔ No tiene género

❌ two bigs houses
✔️ two big houses → dos casas grandes

  • two small cats → dos gatos pequeños

🔵 Cuando hay más de un adjetivo (A1)

En A1 usamos normalmente solo uno, pero a veces aparecen dos.
El orden más común es:

TAMAÑO + COLOR + Sustantivo

Ejemplos:

  • a big black dog → un perro grande y negro
  • a small red bag → un bolso pequeño y rojo

💙 No es necesario memorizar listas largas en A1. Con tamaño + color es suficiente por ahora.

  3. They live in a small town.

3. Traduce al inglés.

  1. Tengo una casa grande.
  2. Ella tiene un perro pequeño.
  3. Vivimos en una ciudad grande.
  4. Compran dos coches rojos.
  5. Lleva una chaqueta negra.
  1. I have a big house.
  2. She has a small dog.
  3. We live in a big city.
  4. They buy two red cars.
  5. He wears a black jacket.

4. Corrige la frase si es necesario.

  1. She has a car red.
  2. I like the house big.
  3. He wears two old jackets.
  4. They have a black big dog.
  5. We live in a city small.
  1. She has a red car.
  2. I like the big house.
  3. ✔️ Correcta.
  4. They have a big black dog.
  5. We live in a small city.

5. Reescribe la frase colocando el adjetivo en el lugar correcto.

  1. I have a house (small).
  2. She buys a dress (blue).
  3. They see a dog (big, brown).
  4. He lives in a town (old).
  5. We eat apples (red).
  1. I have a small house.
  2. She buys a blue dress.
  3. They see a big brown dog.
  4. He lives in an old town.
  5. We eat red apples.
